
REXPHARM signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Vietnamese company NEW GLOPATH on December 15 at the KOTRA Danang Trade Center to collaborate on the sales of health functional foods.
Founded by Dr. Youngsoon Park, the creator of the Onnuri Pharmacy chain, REXPHARM established a fermentation and extraction plant equipped with GMP facilities in the Iksan Food Cluster in 2021. The facility is based on advanced technologies for cultivating and fermenting Sanghwang mushroom mycelium and extracting beta-glucan.
Sanghwang mushrooms have long been used for strengthening immunity, as well as providing antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, blood circulation–enhancing, anti-diabetic, and liver-supporting benefits. These effects have been validated in numerous academic papers and patents, according to REXPHARM.
REXPHARM sources Sanghwang mushrooms grown naturally on Korean mulberry trees, selects premium strains, and cultivates and extracts them in its nationally certified GMP facilities to develop and mass-produce high-quality mycelium.
The company operates a GMP factory equipped with three 4-ton extraction and concentration systems and a 15-ton fermentation reactor, enabling the extraction of beta-glucan—one of the most potent immune-boosting components—along with various beneficial compounds found in mushrooms.
In addition to health functional foods made from cultivated, fermented, and extracted Sanghwang mushroom mycelium, REXPHARM is accelerating the development of general food products.
The company is working with specialized partners to develop high-functionality beverages and food items such as noodles, sauces, bakery products, and alternative foods using Sanghwang mushroom mycelium.
The contract ceremony in Vietnam marks REXPHARM’s full-scale step into the global market.
During the ceremony, the simultaneous launch of the “Lexpick” lineup—Original, Booster, and Glow—in both Korea and Vietnam drew significant attention.
REXPHARM stated,
